Severe Cold Forces Suspension of Classes in West Champaran Till January 8
Bettiah, West Champaran:
In view of the continuous drop in temperature and prevailing cold wave conditions, the district administration of West Champaran has ordered the suspension of academic activities for all schools up to Class 12.

According to the official order issued by the District Magistrate, all government and private schools, including pre-schools, Anganwadi centers, and coaching institutes, will remain closed for academic activities till January 8, 2026.

The order states that the persistent cold and cold wave situation is extremely harmful to the health of children. Keeping students’ safety in mind, the administration has taken this preventive step under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
However, already scheduled special classes and examinations will remain exempted from this restriction and will be conducted as per schedule.
The order will be effective from January 7, 2026, and will remain in force till January 8, 2026. All school authorities have been directed to strictly comply with the instructions to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the harsh winter conditions.
